StyleCraft Instinct Metal Shaver

The Instinct Metal is a double foil shaver — the manufacturer lists it as the »Instinct Metal Professional Double Foil Shaver«. It is the tool that closes out the cut: the neckline, the outlines and the area around the beard line are taken down clean once clipper and trimmer have done their part. The shaving head carries a gold-titanium dual foil with two Echo cutters underneath.

For anyone who does not work with these tools every day, the difference in one sentence: the clipper removes length across the surface, the trimmer sets edges and lines, and the foil shaver runs over the skin at the end and takes down whatever is still standing. It replaces neither of the other two — it comes after them.

It runs on the patented IN2 Vector motor with torque control: 8,500 rpm at no load, up to 11,500 rpm under load. The metal housing damps vibration. Charging is over USB-C, with charging stand and cable included; a charge takes two hours and gives up to two hours of cordless running. The gold-titanium shaving head with its two echo cutters is available separately, so the machine stays in service once the foil is worn.
