StyleCraft Instinct Trimmer

The StyleCraft Instinct Trimmer is a tool for the edge. A clipper takes length off the bulk, a foil shaver finishes flat against the skin — the trimmer sits between the two and draws the line: outlines at forehead and temples, the neckline, the beard line along cheek and throat. So you can see what you are cutting, the housing is kept narrow, a skeleton frame that leaves the cutting edge in view.

The Instinct is driven by the patented IN2 Vector motor with torque control (Intuitive Torque Control) — per the manufacturer, a full-size clipper motor housed in a trimmer body. It idles at 8,500 rpm and climbs to as much as 11,500 rpm under load; according to the manufacturer it increases torque and power to handle the thickness, texture and length of the hair. Cutting is handled by the X-Pro Wide DLC blade set (Black Diamond Carbon) with the “The One” deep-tooth cutter.

The blades are fully adjustable, and the zero-gap tool is included — it doubles as the blade guard. The lithium-ion battery gives up to two hours of cordless run time; the manufacturer notes that run time varies with the use of torque control. Charging cable and charging stand are both in the box. Built for barbershops and salons that cut lines all day, and for private users who keep their own edges tidy between appointments.
